A native Vermonter, Doug Hall has been a practicing accountant since 1971, after graduating from Champlain College with an Associate degree in Accounting. He acted as the comptroller for the Sugarbush Inn in Warren, and in 1976, Doug became a public accountant working with Bob Holden at the R.J. Holden Company. He became a certified public accountant in 1989, and in 1996, Doug and Bob formed Hall & Holden, P.C., with Doug becoming the firm's managing partner.
Doug acted as the Vermont State Director for the National Association of Public Accountants, and was the Treasurer of the Vermont Association of Public Accountants. He also served as Treasurer of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce for 6 years, from 1997-2003 and is currently on the Tax committee for the VT Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Another native Vermonter, Bob Holden has been an accountant since 1968 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Bentley College in Waltham, MA. Bob started as a staff accountant for the Albert Slayton Company in Montpelier, VT that same year, and became a registered public accountant in 1972. He formed his own firm, the R.J. Holden Company, in 1974, in the Mad River Valley. In 1996, Bob partnered with Doug Hall and formed Hall & Holden, P.C.
Bob has been active in the National Society of Public Accountants, and served on the Board of Governor's for a total of 8 years, 4 of which as the Secretary Treasurer. Bob also served as a past President of both the New England Associations of Public Accountants, and the Vermont Association of Public Accountants. He was a past President of the Accreditation Council for Accountancy, and served on the Board for 6 years. He also served on the Board of Accountancy in the State of Vermont for over 10 years.
Currently, Bob is an active member of the Valley Rotary Club, and has been since 1976.
Originally from New Jersey, Michele moved to the Mad River Valley in 1979. She graduated from Trinity College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree, and came to work as a staff accountant at Hall & Holden, P.C. in 1995. Michele became a certified public accountant in 1997, and in 2003, became the third partner at Hall & Holden.
Michele served on the Board of Directors for the Vermont Society of CPAs, and is a past President of the Vermont Association of Public Accountants. She is also very active in the community, and was a past board member of the Mad River Valley Little League and Mad River Soccer Association. Michele was also a member of the Mad River Lions Club, and currently serves on the Boards of the Warren Cemetary Commission, the Warren Fire Department Auxiliary, and the Vermont Festival of the Arts. She took over for Doug as Treasurer of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2003, a position she still holds.
